Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OneJSONFile (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including anonymous users and registered account holders.

2. Description of Service

OneJSONFile is a REST API service that allows users to store, retrieve, and update JSON data. Each stored file is identified by a unique token and accessible via standard HTTP methods.

Anonymous users may create files without an account; these files expire after 24 hours. Registered users may create persistent files tied to their account, subject to plan limits.

3. Account Registration

Accounts are created exclusively via GitHub OAuth. By signing in, you authorize OneJSONFile to receive your GitHub username, email address, and profile image. We do not store passwords.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account and for all activity that occurs under your OneJSONFile account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at support@onejsonfile.com.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to store or transmit:

• Illegal content or content that violates any applicable law or regulation
• Personally identifiable information of third parties without their consent
• Malware, exploits, or content designed to harm systems or users

You agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
• Use the Service to conduct automated attacks against other systems
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or exploit the Service infrastructure
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

5. File Content

You retain full ownership of the data you store in OneJSONFile. We do not claim any rights over your file content.

We do not access the content of your files except as necessary to provide the Service (i.e., storing and returning them on request) or to comply with a valid legal obligation. By uploading content, you grant OneJSONFile a limited license to store and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

6. Subscription and Billing

Paid plans (Indie and Pro) are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method at the applicable plan rate.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, you will not be charged for the following period but will not receive a prorated refund for the current one.

7. Service Availability

OneJSONFile is operated by an individual developer on a best-effort basis. We do not offer a Service Level Agreement (SLA) or uptime guarantee.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes or planned downtime, but assume no liability for interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OneJSONFile and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Massachusetts.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after updated terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via email.
